APPOINTMENT TO FACULTY POSITIONS IN I.I.T. ROORKEE

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee invites applications from Indian Nationals (foreign nationals can be appointed on renewable contracts of five years) with outstanding track record for faculty positions at the levels of Professor and Associate Professor. The Institute intends to fill up about 70 faculty positions through this advertisement in the following Departments/Centers:

Eligibility-

Qualifications & Experience: 

1. Professor: 

Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of 10 years’ experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs. 

2. Associate Professor: 

Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of 6 years teaching/industrial/research experience, of which at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor in the Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 8000/-

The candidate should ensure that he/she satisfies the required eligibility conditions at the time of application. However, the cut-off date for eligibility criteria for experience only, will be considered as July 31, 2015.

Reservation-

Without any compromise on qualification, experience and competence, the reservation policy of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India regarding SC, ST, and OBC will be applicable for positions in the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences and Department of Management Studies. For appointments, preference will be given to the Persons with Disabilities, if suitable PH candidates are available.

Designations and pay structures -

(i) Professor: Pay structure: Pay Band-4 (Rs. 37400-67000) with AGP Rs. 10500/-). For direct recruits, minimum pay in the PB-4 to be fixed at Rs. 48,000/-.

(ii) Associate Professor: Pay structure: Pay Band-4 (Rs. 37400-67000 with AGP-Rs.9500/-). For direct recruits, minimum pay in the PB-4 to be fixed at Rs. 42,800/-.
